Kate Middleton’s Lookalike Weighed In On the Princess’s Viral Farm Shop Video

Heidi Agan spoke exclusively to ET about the current controversy and conspiracy theories swirling around the Princess of Wales.

Amid the current controversy surrounding Kate Middleton, Heidi Agan, a professional Kate Middleton lookalike, responded to some of the wildest speculation about the Princess, as well as her own rumored involvement in the situation.

During a video chat interview with journalist Kevin Frazier for ET,  Agan opened up about the nature of her job — which involves looking like and imitating the Princess of Wales — and about allegations that she was hired by Kensington Palace to replace Kate Middleton .

At the beginning of her interview, Agan explains that her career began as a waitress and that people would often come to her workplace to take pictures of her and ask for her to be their waitress. “I didn’t even think lookalikes existed, you know?” she explained. “Eventually…I sent my picture to a few agents and got my first job a week later. And then I quit being a waitress.”

According to the young woman, the first time she remembers someone pointing out her resemblance to the princess was when Prince William and Kate Middleton married in April 2011. When the royal couple got married, a cousin of hers sent a photo to her mother with the caption: “Wow, Heidi got remarried, huh?” Her resemblance was a family joke—until she turned it into a job. Indeed, being Middleton’s look-alike has been a lucrative opportunity for Agan, who has put a lot of effort into impersonating the princess. “It’s a paid job, so I guess it’s a bit like an acting job,” she said. “You dress like her to go to work. I’ve traveled all over the world doing this job. I’ve been incredibly blessed, and it’s truly one of the greatest jobs in the world.”

While one might think that looking like Kate Middleton is enough, the doppelgänger says there is meticulous research and practice that goes into this profession. “I want to be the best at what I do, whether it’s what perfume she wears or, you know, stupid things like knowing her dog’s name […] And I have to watch how she interacts with William, how she interacts with the kids? What are her quirks? How she holds her hands. All those things make the experience, I think, a little more realistic.” However, it is sometimes difficult to follow her stylistic choices. “She had bangs once and it was a mistake for her — and it was a mistake for me,” Heidi Agan said with a laugh.

However, the biggest challenge of being a Kate Middleton look-alike is the massive attention she receives, especially in the last few weeks. The drama began in January, when the palace announced that the princess had undergone planned abdominal surgery” and would stay away from public duties until after the Easter holiday. When weeks passed with no trace of her, many people began to speculate about her health. Then, in honor of British Mother’s Day, the palace released a photo of her and her three children allegedly taken by William — but several media outlets, including the Associated Press, removed the image, claiming it had been “manipulated,” leading to even more speculation.

Most recently, a video surfaced of the Prince and Princess of Wales at Windsor Farm Shop , but many online were not satisfied and suggested it was actually Agan in the video. People are going crazy online and experiencing it firsthand is disconcerting,” she said. When asked by ET if she thought it was really Kate Middleton in the farm store video, Agan replied: “Yes, I do, 100%. […] I know 100% that It wasn’t me,” she even clarified. ” Personally, I think she’s fine and will come back when she’s ready and when she’s healed.” The lookalike added: “I’m not employed by Kensington Palace. I’m self-employed and go to fun parties, corporate events and things like that. Nothing as serious as to pretend to be her.” This is said to silence any rumors involving him.
